About Celtaxsys Celtaxsys is an early-stage biotechnology company that is licensing technology discovered at Massachusetts General Hospital (“MGH”) and Harvard Medical School. While at MGH, the founder of the technology discovered a unique cellular mechanism that regulates immune response by either (i) repelling immune and inflammatory cells, or (ii) blocking the ability for infectious agents and cancerous cells to repel immune cells. This mechanism, termed fugetaxis, represents a paradigm shift from current thinking regarding cell movement and has wide therapeutic implications, which are the target of some of the largest blockbuster drugs currently being developed. Celtaxsys has initially identified a number of areas targeted for development to include the following: hypersensitivity, transplantation, immune-mediated diseases, cancer, infectious diseases, medical devices and biomarkers.
